Afghans in Pakistan (Urdu: افغان مُہاجر, Muhajir Afghans) are refugees who fled Afghanistan during the 1980s Soviet war in their homeland into Pakistan.[2] As of March 2009, some 1.7 million registered Afghan nationals were reported to be still living in Pakistan. They are allowed to work and attend schools in the country until the end of 2012.[1]
